THE SOCK BOOTS LOVE

Welcome to another blogpost. I wanted to share something new I introduced in my wardrobe- The Sock Boots.

I have been wanting to buy a pair for a few months but kept delaying it, given the extended summer and sunshine we are getting in Australia but finally I thought let's invest in some Fall pieces and this is my first Fall purchase.

When I saw these boots online, I thought these must fit like a glove and they surely do and anything that snuggles keeps you warm (atleast that's what I told myself).

I bought these from Windsor Smith and they have so many options available. This isn't a sponsored post so believe me when I say, Windsor Smith boots are made to last and are super stylish.

For Sock boots, click here.
For the Velvet version, click here

Windsor Smith also sells Lipstik shoes in their stores and a few good options that I found are here & here.

I love this frilled white skirt from Seed Heritage and I posted it a few weeks ago. The top is from Kookai Australia and the fishnet stockings are from Target

Now, can we please talk about the choker? Well, the choker isn't actually a choker but a ribbon from my purchase at Hermes. We all know how precious that orange box is, so why waste the ribbon when it can be a beautiful accessory?

Hope to see you all soon rocking a pair of sock boots.

CURING THE VELVET BLUES IN PINK

Just wanted to drop in a short and sweet hello in my new pink skirt.
Yes, its pink + pleated + velvet.

Velvet is one trend that comes and goes. I remember seeing the velvet trend emerging last year but never thought it would be this big in 2017 and I would be so smitten with it.

I always thought velvet might be too bold and eccentric to style for everyday looks.
The trick is to dress it down with something casual. Using lighter shades with it help too.

This flowy skirt is very fresh and completes my pleated skirt collection. I was looking for a metallic pink skirt but instead found this velvet one and I couldn't be happier.

METALLIC LOVE

There are so many reasons you want a metallic skirt in your wardrobe. Let's start!!!

It's metallic, which equates to shiny, we all love shiny.
It looks great paired with colours or neutrals.
Nothing says girly more then something flowy.
You will look apart, in addition to feeling fancy.
It's bold and beautiful.
It can be dressed up and down, depending on the occasion.

Metallic skirt is one of the most easiest skirts to dress down. Graphic tees and flats are a perfect way of dressing it down if you aren't too comfortable with the metallic trend.
Dressing up is even easier, add a bodysuit and heels.

I usually add a leather jacket or a bomber jacket for a chilly Melbourne night and the outfit still stands out.

I remember seeing metallic on runways and I never thought I could wear it with so much ease. It's fun dressing up in metallic as it's not too overwhelming like sequins plus it does the trick of being on trend.

If you are not sure about this trend but want to give it a go, click on the links below to grab yourself a bargain.
Happy Metallic-ing!!

THE THRILL OF FRILLS

I have been obsessed lately with adding some skirts to my wardrobe that can taken from day to night. This tiered skirt was love at first sight and it's a perfect mix of chic and comfort.

This fun frilly skirt comes in black and white and being a sucker for white, I got the white and I love my decision. The skirt is currently on sale and available in stores and online.

You must have had a glimpse of this off shoulder top in my previous post and this pretty floral top can be perfectly paired with skirts/ slip dresses/ jeans/ culottes.

Neutral colour skirts help you experiment with different looks. You can dress them up and down by changing what you are pairing it with- a plain t-shirt & sneakers for a girl's brunch; a velvet bodysuit for your date night and a buttoned down shirt for work.

I completed my look with a pair of strappy heels however sneakers being the top trend currently can be another choice of footwear with this skirt. The combo will actually look super cool and on-trend.

Scroll down to shop this look.

VALENTINES DAY LOOKS

Valentine's Day is just round the corner and I wanted to share these two looks with you.

I celebrate romance, love and friendship on this day with my special one.
It's a very important day for me, because my first ever date with my husband (then boyfriend) was on Valentine's Day. So for me, I celebrate the anniversary of my love life.

For Valentine's Day, I like go traditional. Nothing screams Valentine's day like red and yes, I wore red on my first date (I am a hopeless romantic at heart!!).

Red is a very important colour in my culture as well. It's the colour that all brides wear for their wedding. Not just wedding, this colour dominates most of our celebrations. So for me, the colour red is very close to heart.

I chose this dress because of the back details and the perfect length.
My plan is to wear it with a casual tee and denim jacket for fall. I always love to think of multiple looks when I buy something to make the most out of it.

Dress- Kookai, available in store (similar online options here & here)

The second look that I wanted to share with you is this pretty pink slip dress with a floral blouse.
It's perfect for you if you are not a big fan of red and you don't want your outfit too over-the-top.
Nothing says girly more then floral and off shoulder these days.

Dress- Kookai- available in store (similar online options- here & here)
Top- Bardot
Pouch- Kate Spade (Similar here)

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day whether you are doing something lovey-dovey or hanging out with your friends or just sipping on a glass of wine and hating on people showing PDA.
xoxo

THE POP OF WHITE

We have all seen and worn the all black outfits and I think living in Melbourne, black dominates my wardrobes due to the long winter and sometimes just the moody weather that this beautiful city brings to us.

For the short beautiful summer that we get, I love to live in White. It's a colour that pops. It's like a statement. It's something that makes me feel all girly!
Starting with a white outfit means you can go with any colour to accessorise- bright heels, bags, lipstick, earrings. If that's not convenient, what is?
I bought this white dress from Kookai last week and I knew I wanted it as soon as I tried it. White, off shoulder, pockets- seals the deal for me, lol!!
If you are anything like me, then being able to take the beautiful pieces like these from day to night is very important to you.
For a night look, all you need to add is- a pair of heels and a statement necklace.

Another look I wanted to share with you was with this white skirt that I scored from Kookai as well. I paired it with this white top and a lace bralette.
Added a pair of nude lace ups and I are ready to rock my brunch date!

If you are someone who doesn't like all white, you can add a little bit of tan to break the whiteness like I did with the crop top and tan heels.

Going on a vacation? Make sure it's a part of your suitcase.
It's one wardrobe neutral that you won't repent buying.

Hope I have convinced you enough to add some essential white pieces to your wardrobe.

THE BARGAIN BUYS

Happy New Year 2017 to all my readers.

Hope you all had a fabulous holiday period with your loved ones.
I love this time of the year for it's delicious food, sunny weather and a hearts full of love.

Like this wasn't enough, this is the season for best discounts and sales.

I usually don't shop 4-6 weeks before the Christmas period because I know that  good discounts are just round the corner.
The best sales are after Christmas (no wonder Boxing Day is so popular!). Until a few years ago, I would push and shove my way through shopping centres to get the best deals on Boxing day but slowly I realised that Boxing Day sales are usually extended till the first few weeks of January. The discounts are usually the same or sometimes heavier and the shopping centres aren't that full.

This year I didn't shop on Boxing day (Husband was super proud!) but waited until after new year to buy myself a few things.

As you all know, I am all about minimal and comfy looks. For me, it's important that most of the things that I buy can earn me multiple looks and I can wear them at work and outside. I don't like buying items that I can only wear on specific occasions and after that they never get to see the light of the day.

The LBD-
I treated myself to this underrated black dress that I found extremely pretty- the fabric and the off shoulder were the selling points for me. Oh, and did I mention it was 50% off at Kookai (Yes!!!) #winning.
The Neutral shade comfy lace up block heels found their way into my wardrobe and costed me half of the original prices. #Windsorsmith

The wide legged pants-
The only type of pants missing from my wardrobe until I found these from Sheike on sale for under $70.
I am currently obsessed with Sheike's collection- sale and full priced. Make sure you check it out.
The off shoulder top is from Kookai, and yes it is on sale too in-store.

The T-Look-
My second look with the pants was a little casual. I bought the CK tee for 40% off and the silver mules from Sportsgirl were half price too.

I wanted to share some of these bargain buys in this post as a lot of my friends ask where I shop from. I don't shop from any specific store, I look for what compliments my style and wallet.

A few tips-
  • You need to know the time of the year the brand you like have their sales/ bring out new collection. Follow your favourite brands via Social Media or sign up to their newsletters.
  • Don't buy something just because it's on sale. Even if you have the slightest doubt, just let it go.
  • Invest in quality over quantity. You will have less items in your wardrobe but the ones you own will make you feel fabulous every time you wear it.

Hope you all enjoyed reading it and are off to shops already to bag some bargains!
